CSA Information & FAQs
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture”, and is a unique model of local agriculture where farmers deliver fresh vegetables direct to consumers. This mutually supportive relationship between our farm, and our CSA members helps create an economically stable farm operation. By having this direct connection, our produce is picked at the peak of freshness and delivered to our CSA members within hours of the harvest. Thus ensuring you and your family are receiving the freshest, most nutritional produce, all while at wholesale prices. Every other week our members receive their part of the harvest through "shares"- a box full of assorted fresh from the farm produce.
When can I sign up for a membership?
We start sign up in late summer and continue until we are full. Signing up early guarantees your CSA membership and allows us to plan more efficiently for the upcoming season! This is what makes the CSA model of agriculture advantageous- we receive funds for the season in advance (reduces some of the risk of farming), and our members receive the highest quality produce and freshness that can't be found anywhere else!
How long is your CSA season?
Our CSA typically runs from June to October, each membership consists of 9 deliveries, every other week.
How it Works
Our CSA shares include an assortment of seasonal produce. We offer our members the choice of two different size shares: the "Family Share", perfect for families, or veggie lovers, and the "Starter Share", great for singles, couples, or small families. Both sizes consist of nine shares distributed every other week throughout the growing season, which starts in late June/ early July and goes into October.
How much food can I expect to receive in my share?
Depending on the size of share you choose, the size can range from having 10-20 items in a box. Early in the season, shares are lighter and consist of cool season crops. As the season progresses, you can expect more and more variety.
What kind of vegetables can I find in my share?
You can find a current list of crops we grow here.
Are you Certified Organic?
No. While we adhere to or exceed Certified Organic standards, we have not been certified. You can read about our practices and land stewardship here, if you have a specific questions, please contact us for more information.
Do I have to pick up my share, or do you deliver to my area?
Due to limitations and logistics, we have converted to a delivery-only CSA. You can find our current delivery areas here.
Do I need to be home to accept delivery?
No. We understand life is busy, and our goal is to make eating healthy easy! Therefore we do not require that someone accepts the delivery in person. We will gladly place the produce in a shady protected area in your yard (deck, porch, cooler, etc.) to keep it cool and dry.
