Why Choose Organic Produce & Plants-
Growing to organic standards (OMRI) these days starts right from the seeds you choose. Most seeds that are grown in commercial greenhouses and farms come from large seed companies and are treated with multiple chemicals, including neonics (pesticides increasingly linked to the decline of bees), which grow with the plant and can transfer into the soil, and some GMO vegetable varieties, such as summer squashes and sweet corn, have been widely accepted by local greenhouses and growers. All of our plant varieties are selected by us for outstanding taste, productivity and hardiness. We use our experience as growers AND producers to select only the very best varieties for Michigan gardeners. For more info on our growing practices, visit Our Practices.
